The Prayer List is back!
Once each week, the Prayer List will arrive in the ‘Inbox’ of those who want to read the names of those we know need and want our prayers. If you want to add a name to the list, please do – ask their permission if you are adding a last name – and let us know by sending a note to tmuc@shaw.ca And, if you want to receive the list, please be in touch with that request as well. (People who subscribed to the Prayer List before the pandemic will continue to receive it.)
We are gathered for worship and work in Treaty One territory, which is the traditional land of the Anishinaabe, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota and Dené peoples and the homeland of the Metis Nation. For thousands of years Indigenous Peoples walked this land and knew it to be the centre of their lives and their spirituality. We respect the Treaties that were made on these territories, we acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past, and we dedicate ourselves to move forward in partnership with Indigenous communities in a spirit of reconciliation and collaboration.
We hope that you are well as we share this COVID-19 journey.
We are grateful for your ongoing care for us, for one another, for the community around us and for our world.
We are also grateful for your donations on PAR, through www.canadahelps.org and in cheques mailed to the church. You are making a difference. Thank you.
United against Racism
Please join others in the United Church of Canada on Sunday, June 14 at 6:00 p.m. for United against Racism, a special online worship service presented by the Black Clergy Network of The United Church of Canada. This will be a time of worship, prayer, and reflection on issues of anti-Black racism across our country and in our church. In worship we will lament, we will hope, and we will be reminded of the need to act against racism.
This service of prayer and reflection will be led by members of the Black Clergy Network and will be livestreamed on The United Church of Canada’s YouTube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/user/unitedchurchofcanada
And for now, even though we cannot be together in one place, let’s continue to be a community at prayer together. On Sunday at 10:00, let’s think about the gifts we have in our lives, and needs of our world, and then let’s all pray the Lord’s prayer (you can pray silently, or out loud).
And, sometime, when you want to have a longer worship time, we are including some words and videos for your use.
Worship for Sunday, June 14, 2020
We come to worship with ‘Spirit God, Be Our Breath’ (which is 150 in More Voices if you have a hymn book and want to sing along):
We gather together although we are apart.
We gather in community although we are alone.
We gather asking for God’s blessing on our lives, and on our world.
We gather knowing God is with us.

Scripture Reading – Matthew 10:7-14
As you go, proclaim the good news, ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’
Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. You received without payment; give without payment.
Take no gold, or silver, or copper in your belts, no bag for your journey, or two tunics, or sandals, or a staff; for laborers deserve their food.
Whatever town or village you enter, find out who in it is worthy, and stay there until you leave.
As you enter the house, greet it. If the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it; but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.
If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet as you leave that house or town.

Reflection-June 14
Let us pray:
Holy God, you call us to be out and about and to live your Gospel, your good news. We thank you for that call to serve you through our service to others.
Help us to care for others and to live generously and justly. Help us to listen to the needs of the world, and to work to rid the world of prejudice and oppression.
Hear us as we pray for those in need this day. We pray for those who are sick and those who are suffering. We pray for those who are lonely or afraid. We prayer for those who are abused and misused. Hear our prayers.
We pray also for this fragile planet, this earth, our home. Help us to care for creation as we care for one another – with thoughtful and loving hearts and actions.
And for all our prayers which are sighs too deep for words, hear our prayers and in your love, answer. We pray in Jesus name, Amen.
Closing Hymn – “Go Make a Difference”
We are not alone. We live in God’s world. Thanks be to God.
God bless you and keep you.
God’s face shine upon.
God grant you peace and joy.
Be in the peace of Christ, this day and always. Amen
We keep you in our prayers,
Carol and Jeff
