We can hardly believe it!

On March 21, TMUC sent our first weekly online worship email.

It began with these words:

On Sunday March 22 there will not be any public worship at Transcona Memorial or anyplace around here. And that will be the case for a while – the length of this pause is not known to any of us yet. We do not need to be in the same place to be the same people – a worshipping community – we are called to be the hands and feet of Christ.”

Those words are just as relevant today, when the ‘length of the pause’ is eight months and counting!

The hands and feet of Christ look like the hands and feet of healthcare workers, teachers, store clerks, truckers, therapists, parents, grandparents, children… everyone trying to help and care for themselves and others in a world in which caring for self and caring for others are deeply related.

TMUC continues to be the hands and feet of Christ through prayer, through the continuing ministry of the Food Bank, through phone calls/texts/emails that say ‘how are you?’ and ‘someone cares’.

While we still cannot “be in the same place”, we can still be together in different ways.

Our website provides information about our faith community, as well as links to various resources. This week we have a Christmas Newsletter. You can find it one the website by clicking on the ‘Christmas 2020’ link on the homepage. The newsletter contains Advent readings, reflections, poems etc to accompany us into the Christmas season.

We also can be together via our weekly ZOOM check-in and chat. Everyone is welcome to join the Zoom Thursdays at 9 a.m.

You are also invited to a ZOOM Advent worship  this Sunday, November 29  at 10 a.m. The worship will be followed by a brief Annual Meeting at 10:30 a.m. You can find the Annual Report on the church website at:

If you want to connect by phone, please let us know and we will make sure that you have all the information on how to do that!

We look forward to seeing you again.

Blessings,
Carol and Jeff
