Woohoo, we are going to RAISE THE ROOF!
At the congregational meeting on August 2, they said YES! RAISE THE ROOF!
It will only be a couple of inches of insulation, but it will make a difference! There will be new shingles and more. The full plans are in the Roofing Proposal
The total cost of this work will be $153,200. We have already raised about $113,000 towards this work!
We have money from a grant from Efficiency Manitoba, a bequest, and the ongoing generosity of the congregation and community to the Building Fund! You are making a difference! Thank you for your continuing support as we work together to RAISE THE ROOF!
And, not only do we RAISE THE ROOF for Transcona, but we demonstrate our leadership in responding to last week’s General Council decision to reduce carbon emissions throughout the United Church by 80% by 2030.
In NEW news, to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the UCW, TMUC is assembling a ‘Thank you for all the UCW has done and does’ CHOIR to record A Tapestry of Love. It is a choir to which EVERYONE is welcome! Perhaps the CHOIR could have some families of UCW people participate – all ages – kids too! All voices (soprano, alto, tenor, bass – and those who just sing the melody!), children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren of UCW founders and members – neighbours, friends, church people, community people – really – a celebration of an amazing gift of UCW! Yes – we will be singing in masks. Yes, we are practicing before the recording. This is a song that was written in tribute to the AMAZING work of the United Church Women! If you want to be a part of this, you are welcome – just come to the back (Choir room) door of the church for the rehearsal times!

The 2023 United Church Edition of the Canadian Church Calendar – features a photo of TMUC’s building for November 2023! The calendars are $10 and available through the church office.
