Thanks to technology we have been able to meet online and people have been able to watch Sunday services from their homes.
Technology allows us to communicate with one another in creative and new ways. Technology also brings challenges for those of us just becoming familiar with some aspects of the technology.
I (Jeff) experienced one of those challenges last Sunday as I tried to record the Sunday service so that it could later be posted on TMUC’s YouTube channel and on our website.
I made a technology misstep, and so we could not post a recording of the service online. I apologize to any who have tried to view it since Sunday!
This Sunday we are embracing another ‘new’ in the realm of technology. We have been live-streaming our services using ZOOM. Starting this Sunday, we will be live-streaming using YouTube. All that changes for viewers is the access link required to watch.
Here is the link to Sunday’s service. You can access the link beginning at 9:45 a.m. Sunday.

During the summer, TMUC will participate with six other United Church of Canada faith communities in ‘Church-orama.’
While TMUC will have worship services every Sunday during the summer, none of the other churches will.
So, members of the seven churches (who have been regularly meeting for a couple of years as the ‘TBJIGGN group’) invite worshippers to visit other worship services during the summer.
TGJIGGN has created a ‘passport’ (available from the TMUC office) that lists suggested worship sites for each Sunday of July and August.
You will receive a ‘stamp’ on your passport at each worship service. The passport lists the dates on which communities are the host worship service. TMUC is a designated host site on July .
Please continue to pause to offer Prayers for Peace in Ukraine at 6:00 p.m. daily. And, please continue your prayers for reconciliation, and for refugees everywhere. These are difficult times in our world, and our thoughts and prayers connect us to others and to the healing of this hurting world. #StandWithUkraine
Please remember the TMUC projects:
• The Pop Can Drive (please rinse)
Keep them coming!! TMUC made $60.00 with our last haul of cans! This helps the environment AND is a great cause!
• The TruEarth fundraiser – here’s the link
We continue to be grateful for your generous support of the TMUC community. If you are wanting to make a donation online, here’s the link

Gospel: Luke 9:51-62
A Samaritan Village Refuses to Receive Jesus
When the days drew near for him to be taken up, he set his face to go to Jerusalem. And he sent messengers ahead of him. On their way they entered a village of the Samaritans to make ready for him; but they did not receive him, because his face was set toward Jerusalem. When his disciples James and John saw it, they said, “Lord, do you want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them?” But he turned and rebuked them. Then they went on to another village.
Would-Be Followers of Jesus
As they were going along the road, someone said to him, “I will follow you wherever you go.” And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.” To another he said, “Follow me.” But he said, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.” But Jesus said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead; but as for you, go and proclaim the kingdom of God.” Another said, “I will follow you, Lord; but let me first say farewell to those at my home.” Jesus said to him, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.”

Pastoral Prayer
The prayer that Jesus taught…
Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil
For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory.
Forever and ever.
AMEN
