PLEASE NOTE – There is a parking ban to allow for snow clearing for Yale Avenue West including the block on which the church is located for Sunday, December 18 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The ban also includes parallel streets like Ravelston, but does not include Winona or Bond. The services, both the 10:00 a.m. Fourth Sunday of Advent Service and the 7:00 p.m. Blue Christmas Service will be available on ZOOM if you are not able to attend in person.

“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…”

Each Sunday, worship helps us prepare for Christmas, and this Sunday we light the last advent candle, the candle of love.

The light of each candle brings us nearer to Christmas Eve when the baby Jesus will arrive in the creche in TMUC’s sanctuary, brings us nearer to Christmas morning when we again celebrate Emmanuel – God-with-us!

This Sunday, we worship in-person at 10:00.   If you cannot be present, you are invited to join in the livestream.

Here’s the ZOOM link for TMUC:

and, if you want to just listen, you can join by phone:  204-272-7920

Meeting ID: 753 844 9219

Sunday evening, you are invited to join us for Blue Christmas at 7:00 p.m..  All are welcome in person and on ZOOM.  For those who gather with us in person, there is a reception in the church basement following.

The next online ‘lunch’n learn’ will be at noon on ZOOM on December 22 with the story of Naomi (session lasts about half an hour). Everyone is welcome!

Our Christmas Eve service is at 7 p.m. on Saturday, December 24 (both in person and on ZOOM).

On Sunday, December 25, we celebrate Christmas morning with communion at 10 a.m. (both in person and on ZOOM).

On Sunday January 1, we will gather for our traditional ‘Worship around the Breakfast Table’ in Yale Hall (no ZOOM that week!).  This is a ‘pot luck’ gathering with muffins and more.  Your contribution is appreciated.

Other church news:

Offering envelopes are available for 2023 and are in the office for pick up.

Thanks to everyone for your ongoing support of TMUC’s ministry.  Donations online can be made through CanadaHelps.

Note: to receive a receipt for income tax purposes for 2022 givings to TMUC, we must receive your givings in the office or by mail (post marked no later than December 31, 2022).  To make this easier, the office will be open on Tuesday, December 20 from 9 to 2:00 and on Friday, December 30 from 9 to noon.

Sunday is the last day to bring food or supplies for the hampers!  Thanks to everyone for your generosity.  Hamper delivery is Wednesday, December 21 starting at 5:00 p.m..  Please let us know if you would like to volunteer to help.

We are still collecting pop cans for recycling (so far we have raised almost $185!)  and partnering with TruEarth for fundraising

On Sunday we light the fourth Advent candle – the candle of love!

What Child is This?:

Four Canadian church leaders pre-recorded four Advent conversations to help us reflect on this season and the relevance of Christ today. The conversations were held between the national leaders of The Anglican Church of Canada, The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada, The Presbyterian Church in Canada, and The United Church of Canada.

Here is the link to the third conversation, entitled “What Are We Waiting For?:
