Church and Home – April 24

Categories:

It’s Earth Day!

Earth Day marks the celebration of our planet!  Each day we try to make decisions that contribute toward the healing of the environment.  Every year there is a different theme to Earth Day and this year the theme is:

Invest in our Planet!

How we invest in our planet is certainly something for us to consider!  Please share your thoughts on this theme – we would love to hear them!

The TMUC partnership with TruEarth is one of the ways that we are trying to make a difference.  The TruEarth promotions for Earth Day are also fundraisers for the church – if you wish to learn more or to shop, please follow this link

And, if you are collecting pop cans, please drop them by the church during office hours (Tuesday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) or on Sundays mornings if you are coming for worship.

Sunday worship at TMUC is at 10:00 for in person with a live-stream on ZOOM.  Here is the link if you would like to join in online:

Gospel: Luke 5:12-16

Jesus Cleanses a Leper

Once, when he was in one of the cities, there was a man covered with leprosy. When he saw Jesus, he bowed with his face to the ground and begged him, “Lord, if you choose, you can make me clean.” Then Jesus stretched out his hand, touched him, and said, “I do choose. Be made clean.” Immediately the leprosy left him. And he ordered him to tell no one. “Go,” he said, “and show yourself to the priest, and, as Moses commanded, make an offering for your cleansing, for a testimony to them.” But now more than ever the word about Jesus spread abroad; many crowds would gather to hear him and to be cured of their diseases. But he would withdraw to deserted places and pray.

Pastoral Prayer
The prayer that Jesus taught…
Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil
For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory.
Forever and ever.
AMEN
