Masks are now optional in TMUC’s building
There is always lots of news to share in the life and work of the TMUC Congregation and community!
The Council decided this week that mask wearing in our building will now be optional, rather than mandatory. You may wear a mask if you choose, but no one is required to wear a mask. Of course, groups using the building are able to set their own mask policy.
Also, beginning this Sunday, the wooden church doors will be open – as well as the glass doors and the back door with access to the Choir Room. All are welcome and we look forward to seeing you!
TMUC will worship in-person this Sunday at 10 a.m., but the service will NOT be livestreamed or recorded this Sunday. There are Words for Worship at the end of this message for those who are not able to be in the Sanctuary on Sunday.
Messy Church gathers in-person tonight (Friday, September 16) from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Everyone is invited and welcome to join in the fun of games, craft activities and worship.
The Book Group will have the first meeting of the season in person on Tuesday, September 20 from 7-8:30. All are welcome!
And, Tuesdays are Choir rehearsals! The TMUC Singers – practice every Tuesday, starting at 7 p.m. and will sing at the end of the month and at special services.
And, this Sunday join Hymnotic – at 9 a.m. for a practice before the 10 a.m. church service.
TMUC’s Time and Talent Auction will be held in one week, on Friday September 23 at 7 p.m. We need some volunteers to help with the auction (set-up and clean-up, kitchen hosting…), and to donate (past donations have included perogies, cookies, home-crafted bird houses, buns, cakes, Blue Bombers items…) Please send us a note at tmuc@shaw.ca to volunteer or donate a time or talent! Auction donation forms are available in the church office.
Dinner Theatre will be returning next year (April 20-23). We need one cast member to play a female character. Cast members commit to a rehearsal schedule of two evenings a week starting in January, as well as the dress rehearsal and performances. If interested in having some fun and fulfilling your dream of being an actor, please contact the Caught in the Act’s (CITAC) producer, Kathy Antymis, at antymis@mymts.net or director Shelley Schau at saschau@mts.net.
In the coming months we will be letting you know about other volunteer opportunities to help with the production.
Thank you for the donations to the Building Fund and the General Fund as we continue to share ministry in the community and in our building. NOTE: If you are donating by cheque to the Building Fund, the cheque should be made payable to ‘TMUC’ with a note in the memo line to indicate it is for the ‘Building Fund’. The Credit Union will not accept cheques made out to the ‘TMUC Building Fund’.
The Upper Room daily reading booklet is available for September and October in both large print and regular size. Donations of $1.00 are appreciated.
Please remember the TMUC projects:
• The Pop can recycling (so far we have raised over $100)
• Old batteries recycling
• The TruEarth Fundraiser (so far we have raised about $140!) Here’s thelink
Office hours will continue to be irregular, so please email to confirm that someone will be there to meet you if you need to drop by.
