Summer inspires songs!
Various songwriters and composers have turned summertime experiences into music, attempting to convey a sense of this season’s seasonal character.
Here are just a few examples of ‘summer songs’:

Hopefully you recognize some of these songs – maybe you even found yourself humming some tunes as you read that list.
Musicians take us into life. With words and rhythms, they evoke memories and experiences and sometimes begin to shape our own experiences.
Just as there are many ‘summer songs’ we can hear find online or hear on the radio, there are also many hymns that convey and evoke experiences and awareness of God.
Summer has inspired songs!
God has inspired hymns!
And God has inspired scriptures!
To say that the Bible is inspired by God doesn’t mean that God wrote the Bible. It means that those who wrote the various books and passages in the Bible, did so attempting to convey a sense of God’s ‘character’, of God’s presence in history, of people’s experiences and encounters with God.
We invite you, this summer, to listen to some of your favourite ‘summer songs’. We invite you to also hum some of your favourite ‘God hymns’ or read some of your favourite ‘God scriptures’ and remember the times and ways you have experienced and encountered God in life.

The ‘Church-orama’ host congregation this Sunday is North Kildonan United Church. Church-orama is a cooperative summer worship of seven United Church faith communities of northeast Winnipeg – (also known as the T’BJIGGIN group). Church-orama offers passports! If you plan to visit some of the other churches, we invite you to take a ‘passport’ and collect a stamp! Passports are available from the TMUC office. The passport lists service times and locations.

As a welcoming faith community we are looking for volunteers to welcome people to worship on Sunday mornings. The Parable of the Good Samaritan
