Yesterday, Casera Credit Union announced the recipients of their 2021 Community Awards

The Transcona Food Bank received the Community Enrichment Award and Gail Purcell received the Community Leadership Award.

The Award for the Transcona Food Bank recognized all the work of the leadership team and volunteers.  “The COVID-19 pandemic was challenging for everyone, but for the Transcona Food Bank, it meant adapting to rapidly changing processes and pivoting to procedures that ensured safe and respectful service to families.”

The Leadership Award celebrated that Gail sees “the promise in people, the possibilities of community action, and the progress that comes from personal caring and cooperative sharing. As a long-time volunteer in a broad range of community-focused activities and organizations, Gail works to make our city more inclusive and humane.”

We celebrate the love and friendship that is so widely and graciously shared throughout our community!  Each person makes a difference!
