Which way did they go?
It looked like the rabbits had been having a party – maybe dancing, maybe playing a game of some sort.
Looking out the kitchen window, we could see the rabbit foot prints in our backyard. The prints circled the yard and circled within the yard.
Had we wanted, we could have gone outside and tried to figure out where the tracks began, then followed them on their surprising way throughout the yard.
Every season of Lent, the church circles back to the stories of Jesus – often surprising stories of confrontations, of an invitation to carry a cross and of Jesus dancing with God on their way to Jerusalem.
The hymn “God of the Bible” reminds us of God’s presence with us in these stories and in our lives:
During this Lent, we are following a theme of ‘again and again…’
This week our theme is ‘again and again we are shown the way’.
Jesus invites us to a way that leads into and out of the heart of God; a way that offers healing and hope; a way that invites us to lose life in order to discover life.
One of the ways TMUC seeks to be shown the way is through worship. During Lent, you are invited to join in online worship via Zoom every Sunday at 10 a.m.
This Sunday, the worship service will be followed by our Annual Meeting.
The Annual Meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m. The Annual Report and meeting agenda can be viewed here
Here is the Zoom link for both the weekly worship and the Annual Meeting: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/7538449219
If you prefer to join us by being on a ‘Party-line’/’Conference Call’ style of phone call, the number to dial is: 204-272-7920
You will be asked if you want to ‘join a meeting’, (say yes), and then enter the meeting ID number: 753 844 9219
The time is coming when the rabbits will want to be admiring flowers and vegetables growing in our yards, balconies, or wherever we might plant them. We can make that happen by participating in TMUC’s Glenlea Greenhouse fundraiser. You can place your orders at Glenlea Greenhouse fundraiser
You can place orders until April 15. Please order early to get your favourites!
The delivery date for TMUC is May 14. If you have any questions, please email our project coordinators, Cathy and Breanna, at tmucflowers@gmail.com
We continue to be so grateful for those who continue to financially support the ministry of TMUC, through your donations on PAR, through www.canadahelps.org and in cheques mailed to the church. You are making a difference. Thank you.
Even though we cannot be together in one place, let’s continue to be a community at prayer together. We hope that on Sunday at 10:00, you will think about the gifts we have in our lives, and needs of our world, and then pray the Lord’s prayer (you can pray silently, or out loud).
And, sometime, when you want to have a longer worship time, we are including some words and videos for your use.
The Prayer List is distributed separately and allows us to remember specific people with our prayers. If you want to receive the Prayer List, or add a name (with their permission), please be in touch.
Again and again we are called to listen to words of reconciliation:
We are gathered for worship and work in Treaty One territory, which is the traditional land of the Anishinaabe, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota and Dené peoples and the homeland of the Metis Nation. For thousands of years Indigenous Peoples walked this land and knew it to be the centre of their lives and their spirituality. We respect the Treaties that were made on these territories, we acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past, and we dedicate ourselves to move forward in partnership with Indigenous communities in a spirit of reconciliation and collaboration.
Again and again, we are shown the way of Christ in music, scripture and prayer. We are invited to worship.

Introit: When a Grain of Wheat
You call us, O God, to be your people.
Again and again you invite us to journey with Jesus.
We come to worship today that we might be with you.
Open our ears to hear your Word.
Open our eyes to see your presence.
Open our minds to your truth.
Open our hearts to your justice.
Open our lives to your life.
We have come in Jesus’ name.
Our opening hymn is ‘O Jesus, I have Promised.’

John 2:13-22
The Passover of the Jews was near, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
In the temple he found people selling cattle, sheep and doves, and the money changers seated at their tables.
Making a whip of cords, he drove all of them out of the temple, both the sheep and the cattle. He also poured out the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables.
He told those who were selling the doves, “Take those things out of here! Stop making my Father’s house a marketplace!”
His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for our house will consume me.”
The Jews then said to him, “What sign can you show us for doing this?”
Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
The Jews then said, “This temple has been under construction for forty-six years, and will you raise it up in three days?”
But he was speaking of the temple of his body.
After he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this; and they believed the scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken.
Carol and Jeff offer a reflection on Jesus’ actions in the temple.

Let us pray:
God, we gather our thoughts, our hearts, our living…in prayer.
We pray in so many ways. We pray using diverse words and images.
Often we pray as Jesus taught us to pray.
We pray, “Give us this day our daily bread.”
God, as individuals and as a faith community, we do not know what You may give to us next week, or in six months or in a year.
But we can be thankful for You give to us this day, God!
We are thankful for the hints of Spring emerging in this world.
We are thankful for researchers and medical scientists who have and are developing vaccines to protect us from COVID-19.
We are thankful for people who express compassion, care and respect for others.
We are thankful for all who is various ways seek to create a more peaceful and harmonious world.
We are thankful that our lives are lived within the wonder, the immensity and the blessing of Your love.
We are thankful, God, and we are hopeful. We are hopeful that people will choose to live with compassion to this world and to one another.
We pray for all who suffer in this world.
We pray for all who live with physical pain and discomfort. We pray for all who live with disease. We pray for all who stuggle with emotional challenges, with anxiety, stress and depression. We pray for all who seek spiritual nourishment and meaning.
We pray for all who experience violence in any form. We pray for all people to be able to live with a sense of dignity, safety, respect and affirmation of who they are and the gifts they can offer to this world.
We pray for a world freed from war.
We pray for a world freed from bigotry, prejudice, and fear of others just because they are different from ourselves.
We pray, God, for leaders to be guided by wisdom and compassion to create societies that nurture the well-being of all people; and that respect the sacredness of Your creation.
God, let us be thankful for the gift of life, and let us thankfully share Life with others in peace, friendship and love.
We pray in the name of Christ. AMEN
Our closing hymn is “Put Peace Into Each Other’s Hands.”
May God bless you and keep you.
May God’s face shine upon you.
May God grant you peace and joy.
Be in the peace of Christ, this day and always. Amen
We keep you in our prayers,
Carol and Jeff
