Even though we cannot be together in one place, let’s continue to be a community at prayer together. We hope that on Sunday at 10:00, you will think about the gifts we have in our lives, and needs of our world, and then pray the Lord’s prayer (you can pray silently, or out loud).
And, sometime, when you want to have a longer worship time, we are including some words and videos for your use.
The Prayer List is distributed separately and allows us to remember specific people with our prayers. If you want to receive the Prayer List, or add a name (with their permission), please be in touch.
We are gathered for worship and work in Treaty One territory, which is the traditional land of the Anishinaabe, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota and Dené peoples and the homeland of the Metis Nation. For thousands of years Indigenous Peoples walked this land and knew it to be the centre of their lives and their spirituality. We respect the Treaties that were made on these territories, we acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past, and we dedicate ourselves to move forward in partnership with Indigenous communities in a spirit of reconciliation and collaboration.
Worship for Sunday, February 14, 2021
Introit: Prepare the Way of the Lord, sung by Cheryl and Crystal:
We come to worship to hear Good News,
We come to worship to know God’s love,
We are united in heart and in community,
And everywhere we are God’s people.
Our opening hymn is ‘Jesus, You have Come to the Lakeshore’

Mark 1:35-39
In the morning, while it was still very dark, he got up and went out to a deserted place, and there he prayed. And Simon and his companions hunted for him. When they found him, they said to him, “Everyone is searching for you.” He answered, “Let us go on to the neighbouring towns, so that I may proclaim the message there also; for that is what I came out to do.” And he went throughout Galilee, proclaiming the message in their synagogues and casting out demons.

Let us pray:
God, you have created a universe of wonder and beauty.
You have given us a planet to call home.
You have invited us to hear your Word, and to live your love for one another and for this fragile planet.
Hear us as we pray to you this day.
We thank you for your gifts in our lives.
We thank you for family and friends.
We thank you for meaningful words that bring comfort and hope.
We thank you for opportunities to serve you, and to care for others.
We thank you for the gift of prayer.
We thank you for morning and evening and all the day in which we can live our prayers as we live your love.
We thank you for Jesus, who journeys with us in prayer and in love.
Holy God as your people we know that this world is not as you intend,
There are so many places where the earth itself is suffering and groaning with misuse and abuse.
There are so many people who are living in fear.
There are so many people who are living without clean water or healthy food.
There are so many people who are sick and need healing.
There are so many people who are seeking justice.
Hear our prayers.
O God, help us to live as your faith filled disciples.
Help us to be channels of your peace, and bearers of your love and grace.
Help us to remember that nothing can ever separate us from your care.
In our times of despair, in our times of joy, you are always with us.
Enable us to share your good news, your love, for all, always, for it is in Jesus’ name that we pray. Amen.
Our closing hymn is “I am the Light of the World”
May God bless you and keep you.
May God’s face shine upon you.
May God grant you peace and joy.
Be in the peace of Christ, this day and always. Amen
We keep you in our prayers,
Carol and Jeff
